Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day on Sunday.  The children had decorated around the fireplace with pictures they had colored and little books and notes they had written for me.  Danny got me the perfume I have been wanting for a long time (Ralph Lauren Romance and Ralph Lauren Romance Summer Blossom).  That evening we went to Danny's parents for a delicious dinner including some of my favorite foods- barbecue steak and salmon.  It is so fun visiting with everyone and hearing about everything going on in their lives.  I am so happy to live near family and be able to have my children grow up really getting to know their grandparents, great-grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.  That was something I always thought would be so neat because we mostly lived pretty far from relatives when I was growing up.

I am so grateful for all the mothers in my life and women who have nurtured and loved me.  I am so grateful to be a Mother and to have the opportunity to raise these amazing little children and help them find their missions in their lives.  It is a responsibility that is overwhelming and humbling, but it brings so much happiness.  It has brought me closer to Heavenly Father as I seek his guidance to help my sweet children reach their potential.  I love them so much!

"Motherhood is the greatest potential influence either for good or ill in human life.  The mother's image is the first that stamps itself on the unwritten page of the young child's mind.  It is her caress that first awakens a sense of security; her kiss, the first realization of affection; her sympathy and tenderness, the first assurance that there is love in the world."
